Job summary

The Disused Tips Authority for Wales is seeking a strategic Head of Communications, Engagement & Partnerships to shape how the organisation speaks to communities, partners and stakeholders. You will lead communications, engagement and public affairs, translating board priorities into clear, confident messaging.

Based at Merthyr Tydfil with hybrid attendance, you will build trusted relationships, shape the Corporate Plan and guide a high‑performing team.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in communications, engagement, public affairs, stakeholder relations or partnership management.
• Proven track record of building stakeholder confidence and delivering outcomes.
• Ability to translate complex issues into clear communications.
• Experience leading a communications or engagement team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Authority's communications strategy and internal/external messaging.
• Develop relationships with communities, government and partners.
• Oversee Corporate Plan communication and delivery.
• Provide strategic communications advice to CEO and Board.
• Build and lead a high-performing Communications & Partnerships team.
