Job summary

Finatal partners with a private equity-backed professional services business to appoint a Group Financial Controller who will strengthen financial control, reporting and governance across a multi-entity group.

Reporting to the CFO, this hands-on leadership role will oversee the financial control environment, group reporting, treasury oversight and the development of the finance function to support growth with a clear succession plan.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with group/FC experience.
• Experience leading multi-entity consolidation and reporting.
• Strong treasury, VAT, PAYE and payroll knowledge.
• Track record of improving processes and controls.
• Experience managing a finance team and communicating with non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day finance across a multi-entity group with robust controls and governance.
• Own month-end and year-end close; consolidate reporting.
• Oversee group consolidations, intercompany accounting and balance sheet integrity.
• Manage treasury, cash flow visibility and banking relationships.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting for P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
• Take ownership of statutory accounts, external audits, and tax compliance.
• Drive process improvements; strengthen controls and reporting frameworks.
• Oversee payroll, pensions and wider finance operations.
• Partner with CFO and leadership on strategic decisions and transformation.
• Develop and mentor the finance team; foster accountability.
