Job summary

Michael Page Finance is assisting a growing Leeds-based group to recruit an experienced Financial Controller who will own a broad finance function, strengthen reporting and controls, and provide meaningful commercial insight to senior leadership.

The role requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA and proven experience in managing multi-entity finances, external audits, and board packs. A proactive, hands-on approach and strong stakeholder skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Previous Financial Controller or senior finance experience.
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Experience managing external audits.
• Excellent Excel and wider Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong commercial and analytical capability.
• Experience working across a multi-entity or complex organisation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to take ownership.
• Track record of improving processes, controls and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts across multiple Group entities.
• Review P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
• Produce Board reporting packs with clear commentary and commercial analysis.
• Own weekly short and long-term cash flow forecasting.
• Review and improve the monthly Group consolidation process.
• Prepare year-end statutory accounts.
• Manage the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Support Companies House compliance and statutory filings.
• Develop and improve the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
• Improve KPI reporting and provide greater commercial insight to senior management.
• Support business plans and funding proposals.
• Drive automation and continuous improvement across finance processes and controls.
• Oversee VAT, PAYE, CIS and payroll-related activities.
• Support pension administration and other finance operations as required.
