Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust seeks a General Manager to join the CSU leadership team and deliver safe, effective and timely services within resources. The post holder will lead a senior management group and provide visible, inclusive leadership across sites to improve access, pathways and patient experience.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification or equivalent senior management experience in urgent and emergency care.
• Operational management experience in a large, complex acute healthcare organisation.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams across sites and delivery of high-quality services.
• Strong strategic, programme and project management skills with workforce and budget experience.
• Analytical and digital skills to use data and business intelligence for improvement.
• Sound knowledge of NHS policy and urgent care priorities.
• Resilient, inclusive leadership style and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the CSU leadership team to deliver safe, effective and timely services within available resources.
• Provide visible, inclusive leadership to multidisciplinary teams across sites and drive improvements in access and patient experience.
• Oversee governance, risk management and patient safety, ensuring continuous improvement and performance delivery.
• Direct demand, capacity, workforce and financial planning, including efficiency initiatives and business case development.
• Support strategic direction with the Clinical Director and Head of Nursing, and develop partnerships with Leeds partners.
