Job summary

CHEC is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function from its Fulwood, Preston base. The role focuses on management accounting, strong controls, and efficient end-to-end processes, partnering with operations to drive insights and improvements.

The candidate will oversee month-end close, financial reporting, and intercompany activity, while supporting strategic projects and the Group Financial Controller. This is a permanent, full-time position with 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience.
• Strong technical accounting expertise including month-end close and controls.
• Proven experience leading finance operations and business partnering.

Responsibilities

• Lead management accounts, AP, bank reconciliations and cash management.
• Own month-end close and provide accurate, timely reporting across entities.
• Drive working capital and cashflow forecasting; manage stock and banking.
• Produce consolidated monthly accounts aligned to business needs.
• Support audit and year-end processes with external auditors.
