Job summary

MAC Recruit Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Financial Controller for a growing SME. The role involves taking ownership of the finance function, strengthening controls and providing senior leadership with timely financial insights to support continued growth.

The successful candidate will oversee monthly management accounts, budgeting, cashflow, payroll, VAT and statutory reporting, while developing robust processes as the business scales.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience as Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Head of Finance in growing SME.
• Experience in cashflow management, budgeting and forecasting in a scaling business.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Manage cashflow forecasting and working capital.
• Coordinate payroll and associated financial processes.
• Handle VAT returns and HMRC compliance.
• Maintain robust financial controls and drive process improvements.
• Support statutory accounts and liaise with external accountants and auditors.
• Provide financial insight to senior leadership for decision-making.
• Develop and lead the finance team.
