Job summary

Mac Recruit Group seeks a Commercially minded Financial Controller for a growing SME in South Lanarkshire. You will own the finance function, strengthen controls and provide senior leadership with timely financial insight.

The role covers accounting, budgeting, payroll, VAT and statutory reporting, with strong emphasis on process improvements as the business scales. ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent required, experience with Xero is essential.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent qualification is essential.
• Experience as Financial Controller or senior finance role in an SME.
• Strong cashflow, budgeting and forecasting capability.
• Proven ability to lead financial reporting and controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis cycles.
• Forecast cashflow and manage liquidity and working capital.
• Oversee payroll, VAT returns and HMRC compliance.
• Strengthen financial controls and drive process improvements.
