Job summary

Accountable Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Financial Controller for its Newton-le-Willows-based operations. The role leads the finance function across multiple group companies, partnering with senior stakeholders and driving accurate reporting, governance and commercial insights to support expansion.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Financial Controller with strong technical accounting and commercial acumen.
• Experience in construction/engineering/related sectors preferred.
• Experience producing consolidated management accounts and multi-company reporting.
• Knowledge of CIS, payroll, VAT and related compliance.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Proven experience leading and developing finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate financial activities across group companies.
• Produce monthly management accounts and consolidated group statements.
• Develop weekly financial reporting and dashboards for leadership.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
• Provide insightful commercial analysis on profitability and margins.
• Oversee job costing, utilization and operational reporting; manage ledgers.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning processes.
