Job summary

Accountable Recruitment seeks a Financial Controller in Chester to partner with the CFO, leading the finance team and delivering robust controls and reporting. You will shape the monthly close, financial planning, and investor information, while guiding a small accounts team and driving continuous improvement.

You will build sophisticated financial models in Excel, manage cash flow forecasting, and establish strong external relationships with banks, auditors and tax advisors.

Qualifications

• CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified.
• Proven experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Drive enhancements in efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to drive change and challenge status quo.
• Analytical and technically proficient reporting MI across the finance function and wider business.

Responsibilities

• Lead on technical accounting and month end, providing information for investors.
• Manage a small accounts team, including an assistant management accountant, supporting learning and career development.
• Review and enhance existing financial controls and processes, creating a roadmap for improvement.
• Ensure timely and accurate payments and cash collection via strong transactional finance management.
• Lead monthly management accounts and assist the assistant management accountant.
• Build the board pack and month end reporting; lead revenue recognition improvements and automation.
• Develop and maintain robust financial models using Excel for strategic decision-making.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting and continuous improvement of the cash flow model.
