Job summary

South Eastern Railway in London Bridge is seeking a Finance Business Partner to provide strategic financial insight and support to senior stakeholders across Engineering, helping drive performance and inform decisions.

You will lead financial planning, forecasting and performance management, translate complex data into actionable recommendations, and coach a junior Assistant Management Accountant, building a high-performing finance team.

Qualifications

• Lead line management experience.
• Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with significant business partnering experience.
• Experience partnering with directors and executive stakeholders.
• Ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable recommendations for finance and non-finance audiences.
• Provide assured challenge to drive accountability and value for money.
• Think commercially; balance operational, financial and strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop the Assistant Management Accountant.
• Own and be accountable for the directorate's financial performance, budgets, forecasts and long-term plans.
• Provide strategic financial insight and recommendations to support decisions and improve performance.
• Drive improvements to financial processes, reporting and ways of working.
• Lead period-end and year-end reviews, highlighting trends, risks and actions.
• Deliver annual business planning and rolling forecasts with accurate management reporting.
• Support business cases and major projects, ensuring optimal use of resources.
• Ensure integrity of financial information through controls and governance.
• Drive continuous improvement with technology, automation and data insight.
• Provide proactive financial guidance to Directors and senior stakeholders.
