Job summary

Transport for Wales is seeking a Finance Business Partner on an 18-month fixed-term contract. You will provide strategic financial support to directorates, shaping business decisions with insightful analysis and robust governance.

The role sits within the Finance and Governance team to drive efficiency and value for money. You will partner with senior leaders, deliver budgets and forecasts, and produce management information and dashboards, translating data into actionable recommendations across

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with experience in business partnering or financial management.
• Strong skills in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Demonstrable commercial acumen and ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing abilities to build relationships at all levels.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems.
• Solid understanding of governance, controls and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and delivery of financial plans, budgets and forecasts for assigned areas.
• Produce management information, analyses and dashboards; identify risks and opportunities.
• Partner with areas and cross-functional teams to inform strategic and operational decisions.
• Challenge assumptions with senior leaders to ensure value for money aligned to the Business Plan.
