Responsibilities

• Supporting business cases and investment decisions with financial insight.
• Presenting performance, risks, opportunities and variances to leadership.
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
• Preparing reconciliations and reviewing financial commitments.

The Finance Business Partner plays a key role in supporting the senior budget holders in this organisation based near Cardiff.

This large organisation is going through a period of growth and needs a FBP to cope with extra demand.

Description

We're looking for a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join a high-performing finance team supporting a complex, operationally focused organisation undergoing significant transformation and investment.

This is a highly visible role where you'll work closely with senior leaders and budget holders, providing the financial insight, challenge and support required to drive performance, manage risk and support informed decision-making.

You'll be a trusted advisor to operational stakeholders, helping to ensure financial targets are achieved while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, performance and value for money.

Reporting into a Senior Finance Business Partner, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate management information, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis across key business areas.

Key responsibilities include:

• Producing monthly management accounts, financial reports and insightful performance commentary.
• Leading annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow impacts.
• Building strong relationships with budget holders and senior operational stakeholders.
• Conducting regular financial review meetings and acting as the first point of contact for finance support.
• Supporting and challenging stakeholders through the preparation of business cases and investment decisions.
• Presenting financial performance, risks, opportunities and forecast variances to senior management teams.
• Identifying and delivering cost-saving opportunities, efficiencies and process improvements.
• Preparing reconciliations and reviewing financial commitments across assigned areas.
• Supporting year-end audit requirements and responding to auditor queries.
• Delivering ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Profile

A successful Finance Business Partner should have:

• A professional qualification in accounting or finance (e., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Experience in financial analysis and business partnering.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in financial modelling and reporting tools.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and regulations.

Job Offer

• Initial 18-month fixed-term contract
• Salary £60,000
