Job summary

Portsmouth City Council is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to manage employee relations matters across the council, maintained schools and academy clients. Hybrid working is offered with some office attendance, and the post requires CIPD qualification or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Provide expert guidance on employee relations issues.

• Experience with trade unions or workplace representatives is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on employee relations including conflict resolution, performance management, disciplinary actions and grievances.
• Collaborate with HR and management to develop effective employee relations strategies.
• Support managers in investigations and provide recommendations on complex cases.
• Facilitate training sessions and workshops on employee relations topics.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
• Promote teamwork, respect and outstanding customer service.
