Job summary

JGA Recruitment Group is working with a well-established organisation in the West Midlands, seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to provide practical, commercially aware HR advice to managers across a varied client base.

This hands-on ER role covers disciplinaries, grievances, absence, performance, and harassment, with involvement in investigations and policy development, while collaborating with senior stakeholders in a hybrid, permanent position.

Qualifications

• ER advisory/consultancy experience required.
• Ability to manage sensitive employee relations cases.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
• Experience handling disciplinaries, grievances, absence and investigations.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert ER advice on complex cases and legislation.
• Lead disciplinary, grievance and workplace investigations.
• Support managers with attendance, performance and capability matters.
• Advise on safeguarding-related HR issues as needed.
• Coach and train managers on HR and ER best practice.
• Support HR projects, change programmes and policy development.
• Build relationships with Trade Unions and professional associations.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across multiple schools.
