Job summary

JGA Recruitment Group is seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to provide practical, commercially aware HR advice to managers across a varied client base in the West Midlands.

The role is hands-on with an ER focus, handling disciplinaries, grievances, absence, performance and harassment matters, and supporting HR projects and organisational change across multiple schools and client environments.

Qualifications

• Strong experience across employee relations and generalist HR
• Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
• Experience managing disciplinaries, grievances, absence and investigations
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Confidence advising and coaching managers
• Experience working with or alongside Trade Unions would be advantageous
• Pragmatic, solutions-focused and autonomous

Responsibilities

• Provide expert ER advice on complex cases and legislation
• Lead disciplinary, grievance and workplace investigations
• Support managers with attendance, performance and capability matters
• Advise on safeguarding-related HR issues when required
• Coach and train managers on HR and ER best practices
• Support HR projects, change programmes and policy development
• Build relationships with Trade Unions and professional associations
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across multiple schools
