Job summary

Canterbury City Council is seeking a Development Contributions Officer to manage S106, CIL and Building Safety Levy contributions. You will administer, monitor and report on the funds, liaising with developers and internal teams to ensure timely payments.

The role includes issuing liability notices, maintaining records, developing procedures, and supporting expenditure with partner bodies. It offers 37 hours per week, hybrid working, 23 days leave plus holidays, and a local government pension.

Qualifications

• Experience with invoicing, tracking payments and reconciling records.
• Understanding of planning and building control processes and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience using databases to record and analyse information.

Responsibilities

• Administer, record, collect, monitor and report on S106, CIL and Building Safety Levy.
• Issue liability notices and check exemptions/reliefs against evidence.
• Handle inquiries from applicants and stakeholders and develop SOPs.
• Support expenditure of contributed funds with internal and external bodies.
• Assist with enforcement of non-payment and non-financial obligations.
