Job summary

The Planning Obligations team at Canterbury City Council is seeking a Development Contributions Officer to manage S106, CIL, and Building Safety Levy processes. You will liaise with developers and internal teams to ensure timely payments and accurate reporting, supporting the Infrastructure Delivery Plan.

The role offers a full-time, permanent contract with 37 hours per week and a flexible, hybrid working pattern. A pension scheme, generous leave, and staff discounts accompany the package.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with invoicing, payment tracking, and reconciliation.
• Understanding of planning and building control processes.
• Experience using databases and liaising with customers.

Responsibilities

• Administer and report on CIL, S106 and Building Safety Levy.
• Issue liability notices and check exemptions/relief evidence.
• Handle enquiries from applicants, agents and stakeholders.
• Develop SOPs and guidance for levy administration.
• Support expenditure of CIL and section 106 monies.
• Assist with enforcement of non-payment and non-financial obligations.
