Job summary

The NHS England North West Regional Finance Team invites applications for Deputy Director of Financial Performance & Oversight. You will lead regional oversight across 30 NHS trusts and 3 ICBs, shaping plans and ensuring sustainable financial performance for patients and taxpayers.

Qualifications

• Experience of working at a senior level and leading a finance team.
• Proven experience at a very senior level, including providing informative reporting on finances and impact, delivering complex change and strategy development programmes in a politically sensitive and complex environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead assurance and oversight of financial performance across 30 NHS trusts and 3 ICBs, supporting the Director of Finance to deliver regional financial position and sustainability.
• Ensure coherent annual plans, monitor delivery, draw insights from financial and operational data, and provide timely reporting and briefing.
• Identify risks, escalate issues, and provide high‑level challenge to secure accountability and improvement actions.
