Cedar Recruitment is assisting an NHS Foundation Trust in the North East to appoint an Interim Deputy Director of Finance. The role, hybrid and 6 months, offers a daily rate of £350–£400 umbrella, and requires strategic financial leadership to support sustainability and service delivery.

You will report to the Executive Director of Finance, shaping financial strategy, governance and performance across the organisation, while leading the finance function and collaborating with system partners.

Formación

• CCAB-qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience.
• Extensive senior-level NHS finance experience, ideally Deputy Director or Director level.
• Strong track record in financial planning, forecasting and financial recovery.
• Experience advising Boards and communicating complex finance to non-finance stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Lead financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes including medium/long-term strategies.
• Oversee financial performance, reporting, targets and recovery plans.
• Prepare statutory accounts, external audits and NHS financial submissions.
• Provide strategic financial advice to the Board and senior leaders.
• Strengthen governance, internal controls and risk management.
• Develop and motivate the finance function and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with NHS commissioners and system partners on financial planning.
• Deputise for the Executive Director of Finance at Board meetings.
