Job summary

NHS England North West Regional Finance Team invites applications for the Deputy Director of Financial Performance & Oversight. You will lead financial oversight across 30 NHS trusts and three ICBs, shaping regional and national conversations and ensuring sustainable transformation while delivering high-quality patient care and value for taxpayers.

Working with senior leaders, you'll drive risk management, robust reporting and evidence-based escalation.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in financial performance oversight across large health systems.
Expertise in forecasting and financial recovery.
Ability to influence at board level and across organisations.

Responsibilities

Lead the regional approach to financial oversight, accountability and sustainability across providers and ICBs.
Identify risks early, provide support and challenge, and help translate resources into better outcomes for patients and value for taxpayers.
Assure coherent annual plans and monitor delivery with timely, high-quality reporting and briefing.
Proactively identify and manage risks and issues and agree mitigating actions.
Lead the Financial Performance, Oversight and Intervention team and deputise for the Director of Finance as required.
Influence decisions at scale and contribute to regional priorities and cross-directorate initiatives.
