Job summary

Evera Recruitment Ltd's client, a leading UK organisation supporting the scale-up and industrialisation of advanced battery technologies, seeks a Business Development Manager (Defence) to drive growth of its Defence portfolio and contribute to the UK's sovereign manufacturing ambitions.

You will build senior-level relationships with defence primes, system integrators, DE&S, the MOD/NATO programmes, identify opportunities, lead bids and commercial offers, and shape procurement responses through

Qualifications

• Commissioned officer background in UK Armed Forces (Royal Navy, Army or RAF).
• Significant business development, sales leadership or commercial experience in defence.
• Proven track record of high-value contracts and partnerships.
• Strong understanding of the UK defence landscape and procurement.
• Excellent presentation, negotiation and executive stakeholder skills.
• Strong commercial awareness, strategic thinking and independence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a BD strategy to expand the defence portfolio.
• Identify, qualify and convert new opportunities, maintain a robust pipeline.
• Build senior relationships with defence primes, integrators, DE&S, MOD/NATO.
• Capture customer requirements and work with teams on value propositions.
• Lead review of government contracts and tender processes (DEFSTAN/DEFCON).
• Prepare proposals, bids and commercial offers.
• Monitor defence market trends and represent the organisation at events.
