Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Data Security Lead to strengthen data protection and security posture across critical platforms. You will partner with technology, security, and business teams to design controls, ensure regulatory obligations are met, and enable secure innovation in a highly regulated environment.

The role requires deep GDPR/privacy expertise, experience with data protection by design, and encryption technologies. Based at the Canary Wharf Office with senior stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

• Expertise in GDPR, DPIAs and privacy risk assessments.
• Experience designing Data Protection by Design controls and data classification.
• Knowledge of encryption technologies and data sharing across platforms.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand security requirements in business processes and IT projects.
• Execute risk assessments to identify threats and guide mitigation strategies.
• Develop and implement security policies aligned to the risk management framework.
• Manage implementation, testing and monitoring of security controls across IT systems.
• Deliver training to educate employees and raise cybersecurity awareness.
• Lead complex cybersecurity incidents with IT teams and incident responders.
• Identify emerging cybersecurity trends and advocate adoption of new solutions.
