Job summary

Hackney Council seeks an exceptional data leader to transform data, intelligence and performance information into clear organisational decisions and better outcomes for residents. This is a senior corporate role to shape an integrated Data and Intelligence function across the Council.

You will lead enterprise data strategy, platforms and analytics, driving governance, ethics and responsible use of AI, while turning complex data into actionable insights for senior leaders and elected Members.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience in a large, complex and politically sensitive organisation.
• Proven track record developing and implementing enterprise data, insight or performance strategies.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across data engineering, analytics, insight, architecture or performance.

Responsibilities

• Establish a clear data and intelligence strategy and target operating model, aligned with council priorities.
• Strengthen data governance, ownership, quality and accessibility for trusted use of data.
• Improve availability of timely, accessible intelligence to support strategic decision-making.
• Expand analytics, automation and insight to identify inequalities and measure impact.
