Job summary

Rider Levett Bucknall is seeking a Senior Cost Manager for a major UK roads and bridges programme. Based near Bedford, the role requires three days on-site weekly with hybrid working.

You will lead cost management, procurement and NEC contract administration across interfaces with National Highways, utilities and authorities. The ideal candidate has extensive client-side cost management experience on highways projects and strong governance, reporting and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Proven cost management experience on roads/highways or major civil infrastructure projects.
• Experience with NEC contracts and change management is highly desirable.
• Strong cost planning, estimating, procurement and post-contract commercial delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support client-side commercial workstreams for Roads & Bridges packages.
• Oversee cost planning, procurement readiness, and commercial delivery to meet programme objectives.
• Administer NEC contracts, process early warnings, compensation events and payment assessments.
• Maintain robust cost reporting, forecasts and governance records across interfaces with stakeholders.
