Job summary

Rider Levett Bucknall is seeking a Senior Cost Manager for highways and infrastructure in Bedfordshire. The role requires on-site presence three days per week with hybrid working. You will lead commercial management, cost planning and procurement for a major Roads & Bridges package and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.

The successful candidate will manage NEC contracts, stakeholder interfaces and cost reporting, while delivering value-based solutions in a live project environment.

Qualifications

• Proven cost management / quantity surveying experience on roads, highways or major civil infrastructure projects.
• Experience on complex multi-stakeholder programmes with authorities, utilities, rail and highways interfaces.
• Robust financial management skills including cost planning, estimating, cash flow forecasting and change control.
• Experience of NEC contracts with early warnings, compensation events and payment assessment.
• For Senior Cost Manager / Senior QS level: lead defined commercial workstreams with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead client-side commercial management for the Roads & Bridges package from design through close-out.
• Maintain ownership of defined cost, procurement, contract, change, risk, forecasting and reporting.
• Coordinate commercial inputs across client, consultant, contractor and internal teams.
• Administer or support NEC contracts and change control alongside delivery colleagues.
• Ensure cost plans and forecasts support programme objectives.
• Promote value-based procurement and disciplined cost reporting.
