Job summary

Yolk Recruitment Ltd in Cardiff is partnering with a well-established regional law firm to appoint a Corporate & Commercial Partner. This senior leadership role shapes strategic direction, client relationships and growth across Wales.

You will lead, mentor, and collaborate across practice areas, drive business development, manage complex M&A, contracts, and restructurings, and contribute to long-term firm strategy in a flexible hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in corporate and commercial law, with a strong technical grounding and sound commercial judgement.
• Track record of building trusted client relationships and developing business.
• Ability to identify and pursue opportunities for sustainable departmental growth.
• Collaborative leadership style, with the ability to support, motivate and develop colleagues.
• Forward-thinking and entrepreneurial approach, with a genuine interest in shaping the future of a growing practice.
• Confident to contribute to strategic decision-making while delivering excellent client experience.

Responsibilities

• Shape and deliver the department's strategic growth plans.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with existing clients while identifying new business opportunities.
• Build on the firm’s regional network and wider commercial relationships.
• Advise clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters including M&A, business sales/purchases, restructurings, shareholder arrangements, contracts and joint ventures.
• Identify opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across practice areas to deliver a joined-up service.
• Support development, mentoring and progression of colleagues within the wider team.
• Contribute to the firm's wider business strategy and drive sustainable growth.
