Job summary

Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP in London seeks a Risk & Compliance Counsel to manage conflicts of interest, ethical duties, and onboarding risk for new clients and matters. The role involves advising on compliance, drafting waivers and ethical walls, and coordinating with OGC, NB&C, and intake teams in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead training on the rules of professional conduct, support risk management initiatives, and ensure adherence to firm policies across the NB&C and intake

Qualifications

• England & Wales practice admission required.
• 3+ years in a law firm or corporate GC setting with conflicts and onboarding experience preferred.
• Strong legal research, analytical skills, sound judgment and decision making.
• Team oriented with excellent interpersonal, communication and counseling skills.
• Ability to collaborate with all levels of firm attorneys and staff.
• Experience with conflicts of interest and client onboarding policies and procedures.
• Proficient with MS Office; familiarity with Intapp suite preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and address conflicts of interest for new business intake and lateral hires to mitigate risks.
• Advise on ethical duties and firm compliance policies.
• Collaborate with OGC, NB&C leadership, and stakeholders to resolve complex issues.
• Draft waivers and establish ethical walls; ensure engagement terms comply with policy.
• Develop and deliver training on professional conduct and risk management.
• Maintain confidentiality and support NB&C and OGC projects.
