Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL seeks an experienced Commercial Manager for a major highways infrastructure project in the North West. Based in Penrith, Cumbria, the role focuses on driving commercial performance, governance and successful delivery of a high-value scheme.

You will manage cost control, CVRs, subcontract procurement and final accounts, while negotiating with stakeholders to maximise value and protect profitability. On-site delivery with a prominent contractor.

Qualifications

• Experience as Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or highways.
• Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
• Experience managing project costs, subcontractors and commercial change.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• A commercially driven approach to project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of project activities, ensuring financial targets and contractual obligations are met.
• Manage cost control, forecasting, CVRs and commercial reporting.
• Oversee subcontract procurement, payments, variations and final accounts.
• Administer NEC contracts and manage change, compensation events and commercial risk.
• Identify opportunities to maximise value and protect project profitability.
• Work closely with operational teams, clients and subcontractors.
• Ensure robust commercial governance and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
