Job summary

Kenton Black Limited seeks an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial management on a major highways infrastructure scheme in Penrith, Cumbria. You will drive cost control, forecasting, CVRs and commercial reporting, while ensuring NEC contract compliance and robust governance throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience managing commercial aspects of large civil engineering/highways projects.
• Strong understanding of NEC contracts and their application on site.
• Proven ability to manage costs, forecasts, CVRs and commercial reporting.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of project activities, ensuring financial targets and contractual obligations are met.
• Manage cost control, forecasting, CVRs and commercial reporting.
• Oversee subcontract procurement, payments, variations and final accounts.
• Administer NEC contracts and manage change, compensation events and commercial risk.
• Identify opportunities to maximise value and protect project profitability.
• Work closely with operational teams, clients and subcontractors.
• Ensure robust commercial governance and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
