Job summary

Mears Group is recruiting for a Commercial & Business Support Manager in South Wales. You will lead a central function spanning commercial, financial, assurance and business support activities to drive efficiency and strong controls across the organisation.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will oversee a team, ensure robust financial processes, and help shape the future operating model while delivering high-quality services across South Wales.

Qualifications

• Commercial, financial and business support experience.
• Experience managing business support, commercial, operational or assurance functions.
• Strong people management and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of financial controls, expenditure management and business reporting.
• Experience implementing processes and driving operational improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the Commercial & Business Support team.
• Oversee operational financial controls including purchase orders, expenditure approvals and invoice processes.
• Work closely with finance and operational teams to improve cost visibility and expenditure management.
• Develop and maintain business assurance processes including audits, inspections and compliance activities.
• Provide oversight of fleet, supplier and subcontractor management arrangements.
• Support health and safety assurance activities alongside operational and corporate teams.
• Improve and streamline administrative processes across the business.
• Produce management information and reporting to identify risks, trends and opportunities.
• Support organisational change programmes and future operating model implementation.
• Drive continuous improvement and enhance business performance.
