Job summary

Scrumconnect Consulting in the United Kingdom seeks a Senior Solution Architect to lead design for government-grade services. You’ll bridge legacy systems with modern cloud-native solutions, working with agile teams to deliver secure, scalable citizen-focused services.

The role requires deep Java/Spring Boot expertise, AWS usage, and a track record of delivering in regulated environments. You’ll drive architectural governance and ADRs across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Strong solution architecture experience across full delivery lifecycle (Discovery to Live).
• Experience designing legacy modernisation and Strangler Fig patterns.
• Proficient in microservices, API-led integration, and distributed systems.
• Ability to translate policy requirements into clear technical direction.
• Proven ADRs, trade-off analysis and architecture governance.

Responsibilities

• Own the solution design for complex services and their legacy dependencies.
• Design migration paths between core systems and modern cloud services.
• Define Strangler Fig strategies to modernise without disruption.
• Create designs for microservices, API facades and data migration to AWS.
• Ensure payment journeys are designed end-to-end with banking integrations.
• Produce high-level designs, architecture diagrams and governance-ready docs.
