Zanda, an executive search partner, is partnering with a BioTech/DeepTech start-up seeking a CFO to lead the finance function and partner with the Board. You will steer strategic planning, fundraising (Series B+ to Series C), and build a scalable finance team, while ensuring regulatory compliance and transparent reporting.

The role requires deep finance leadership in science-led organisations and strong investor relations.

Qualifications

Strong experience in BioTech, HealthTech, Life Sciences, AgriTech, Pharma, especially Pre-Revenue.
Proven leader with outstanding management skills.
Resilient, Collaborative, Big picture focused.
Led Series B+ fundraising, IPO, PE or Trade Exit.
Bachelor's degree in business/science/engineering/math.
Accounting qualification (ACA/CA/CPA/CIMA/ACCA); MBA considered when combined with relevant experience.
Innovative, visionary with outstanding financial acumen.
Experienced with Board, Investor interactions.
Proven track record of building a finance team in fast-growing companies.

Responsibilities

Partner with CEO on strategic planning and budgeting.
Interface with Board to report financial health and risks.
Lead fundraising rounds from Series B+ to Series C.
Develop and scale a finance function across the organisation.
Oversee financial statements including balance sheet, income statement and cash flow.
Monitor performance and report to CEO and executive team.
Ensure regulatory compliance and accurate reporting.
Manage relationships with banks, investors and external stakeholders.
Provide input on investments including M&A.
