Job summary

JCB is seeking a Buyer - Engines to shape and execute category strategies, securing a robust supply chain and strong supplier partnerships. You will lead negotiations, manage NPI-related activities and coordinate with engineering teams to ensure the right product at the right cost.

You will drive supplier performance, manage risk, and support with escalations, while collaborating across cross-functional teams to meet the company’s five-year plan.

Qualifications

• Significant procurement experience within manufacturing.
• Experience developing and implementing long‑term category strategies.
• Strong negotiation skills with track record of cost reductions.

Responsibilities

• Develop category strategies and implement with the wider business.
• Engage with engineering and suppliers to source right product and cost.
• Support NPI milestones and targets within your categories.
• Manage supplier programs to support 5‑year plans.
• Lead contractual negotiations with suppliers (long term, development, warranty).
• Build and manage supplier relationships delivering mutual benefits.
• Coach and support team members and collaborate with technical engineers.
