Job summary

Guided Talent Limited is seeking an Engineering Buyer for our client in Great Gransden. The role covers sourcing engineered components, raw materials, tooling and services across manufacturing projects, with close collaboration to engineering, production and quality teams.

The ideal candidate will read drawings and BOMs, negotiate terms and manage supplier performance, while driving cost reductions and supporting NPI initiatives. A Degree or equivalent in engineering or procurement is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience reading engineering drawings, technical specifications and BOMs would be highly beneficial.
• Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Experience using ERP or MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure engineered components, raw materials, tooling and technical services for manufacturing and engineering projects.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations; negotiate pricing, contracts and terms.
• Interpret drawings, BOMs and specifications to communicate requirements to suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance on cost, quality and delivery; resolve supply issues.
• Maintain procurement data (pricing, lead times, supplier performance, inventory) and seek cost-saving opportunities.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and prototype material sourcing.
