Job summary

BidRecruitment seeks an experienced Senior Bid Writer to lead development of compelling, evaluator-focused proposals for complex public sector opportunities in London. You will shape win strategies, craft technical narratives and collaborate with SMEs to deliver high-scoring submissions.

You will require a proven ability to lead proposal teams, manage multiple deadlines, and apply Shipley/APMP or similar methodologies. UK SC clearance eligibility is expected for this role.

Qualifications

• Lead technical proposal development from capture through submission.
• Proven track record in public sector bids.
• Strong writing, editing and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Shipley, APMP or similar bid methodologies.
• Eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).
• Experience with UK Government, defence or international development programmes.
• Experience using AI-enabled tools for research and proposal development.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical proposal development from capture through submission.
• Analyse tender requirements and evaluation criteria.
• Develop win themes, value propositions and proposal narratives.
• Write and edit compelling technical, management and mobilisation responses.
• Support solution design, governance, staffing and delivery approaches.
• Collaborate with proposal, programme and commercial teams.
• Maintain reusable bid content, case studies and lessons learned.
• Proven success writing and winning complex public sector bids.
• Experience with UK Government, defence or international development opportunities.
• Strong proposal writing, editing and communication skills.
• Understanding of Shipley, APMP or similar bid methodologies.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
• Experience using AI-enabled tools for research and proposal development.
• Eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).
• FCDO, ISF, NATO, UN or donor-funded programme experience.
• Strategic communications, resilience, governance or security-sector knowledge.
