Job summary

Capita is seeking a Senior Bid Writer to own storytelling and written quality from strategy to final submission for multi‑million pound bids. You will work in Capita's Win Centre, coordinating with Bid Managers and SMEs to produce compelling, compliant content under tight deadlines.

This role demands exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with a proven track record in complex public sector bids and a readiness to travel for client meetings and events.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading the written responses for complex, high‑value proposals.
• Outstanding writing, editing and storytelling skills with content direction.
• Ability to interpret technical information and apply judgement, not boilerplate content.
• Strong stakeholder management with senior contributors and SMEs.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain quality under pressure.
• Experience of Central Government, long‑cycle public sector bids is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of clear, compelling content aligned to the win strategy.
• Storyboard responses with Capture Directors, shaping how Capita's solution is positioned.
• Translate complex SME input into persuasive, easy to understand narrative.
• Own writing quality end‑to‑end across submissions, ensuring consistency and compliance.
• Edit, review and refine content to a high professional standard under tight deadlines.
• Coach contributors on proposal best practice and bid writing capability.
• Collaborate with Bid Managers, Capture Directors and Solutions teams in a structured bid environment.
