Job summary

Burnley High School invites applications for an Assistant Headteacher to join our senior leadership team. The role combines strategic leadership with day-to-day management, guiding whole-school improvement and supporting the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher.

You will communicate the school’s vision, set aims and policies, manage staff and resources, and monitor progress. The timetable includes teaching commitments and adherence to Teachers’ Standards, with opportunities to mentor colleagues

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher status with leadership experience.
• Ability to coach and mentor colleagues leading to improvement.
• Experience at middle leadership level and safeguarding knowledge.
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic and day-to-day management of the school.
• Support Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher in improvement tasks.
• Communicate the school's vision and establish aims and policies.
• Manage staff and resources to achieve objectives.
• Monitor progress toward school aims and student outcomes.
• Include timetabled teaching commitment and model best practice.
