Job summary

Thames Water is recruiting an Asset Planner on a 12-month fixed-term contract to develop and maintain asset plans for sites and water supply systems within the current AMP and future periods. The role requires coordinating cross-functional teams, prioritising interventions, and ensuring plans align with regulatory and strategic targets.

You will own site plans, lead integrated planning, and liaise with Asset Strategy to inform Price Review 29 planning.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of asset management and planning/forecasting.
• Analytical with comfort in numbers and communicating complex ideas clearly.
• Good understanding of risk management.
• Confident communicator who builds relationships across teams and stakeholders.
• Proactive and able to influence across levels and workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Own the site and system plans and sponsor them through delivery.
• Lead development of integrated site plans and determine optimal sequencing of interventions.
• Continuously update and maintain site and system plans with changing priorities.
• Gather long-term input from Asset Strategy to inform planning for future AMP cycles.
• Develop and prioritise projects for 5-year Asset Management Periods with clear technical scopes.
• Create system-wide plans across abstraction, treatment, storage, pumping, and sludge assets.
• Deliver on Capital maintenance plans and monitor asset health and spend against targets.
• Monitor asset condition, maintenance standards and anticipated failure rates.
• Support external engagement to align stakeholders with strategic plans.
