Job summary

Thames Water is recruiting an Asset Planner on a 12-month fixed-term maternity contract, hybrid from our Hampton office (TW12 2ES). You will create and maintain asset plans for sites and water supply systems for the current AMP and for future periods, prioritising projects and sequencing interventions across the system.

You’ll lead cross-functional planning, gather strategic input, monitor asset health, and engage stakeholders to ensure plans meet performance, resilience and regulatory

Qualifications

• Knowledge of asset management and planning/forecasting.
• Analytical and numbers-driven, able to communicate complex ideas clearly.
• Good understanding of risk management.
• Strong communication and relationship-building across teams and external stakeholders.
• Proactive with ability to influence across levels.
• Able to work across multiple workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Own the plan for your sites and systems and stay involved through the sponsorship model.
• Lead the development of integrated site plans, identify interdependencies and sequence interventions.
• Continuously update and maintain comprehensive site- and system-level plans as priorities change.
• Gather long-term strategic input to inform planning cycles and future needs.
• Develop and prioritise projects for 5-year AMPs with technical scope for submissions to gates.
• Create and manage system-wide plans across abstraction, treatment, storage, pumping, and sludge assets.
• Deliver on Capital maintenance plans and spend in line with asset health and incentives.
• Monitor asset condition, maintenance standards and failure rates.
• Support external engagement to align stakeholders with our strategic plans.
