Job summary

The Office of the Small Business Commissioner (OSBC) in Belfast is seeking an Adjudication and Casework Lead to steer the Adjudication and Casework functions, set strategic priorities and ensure delivery aligns with the OSBC’s business plan and statutory responsibilities.

You will manage teams, drive continuous improvement, oversee decision-making processes for robust, evidence-based adjudications, and report on performance to senior leaders and boards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading adjudication and casework functions.
• Ability to set strategic priorities and delivery plans in a public-sector context.
• Strong governance, risk and reporting capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Adjudication and Casework functions, setting strategic priorities, delivery plans and operational objectives.
• Provide leadership and oversight of all casework and adjudication activity to ensure efficiency, fairness and service standards.
• Lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams, creating a culture of accountability and excellent customer service.
• Maintain oversight of decision-making processes and outcomes to ensure they are robust, evidence-based and legally sound.
• Stakeholder engagement with government departments, legal advisers, industry representatives and small/business stakeholders.
