Job Description

As we join the Danaher family, this will bring new sales opportunities. This is an exciting time to join our sales team as a Strategic Account Manager. Abcam is a successful, fast-growing life science company specializing in antibodies and related protein research tools for scientific research organizations.
The Strategic Account Manager will generate new business and manage a portfolio of key accounts across industry and academia. The position is remote (home office) with regular travel to customers and our Cambridge, UK office, reporting to the Sales Director, EMEA.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive revenue growth by promoting and negotiating our full range of products and services, including Recombinant Antibodies, Conjugation, Assays, Cell Engineering, Proteins, custom solutions, and new product initiatives.
  • Position abcam to new customers and markets.
  • Identify new opportunities and develop business relationships in strategic accounts, focusing on high potential accounts and developing the Key Opinion Leader network.
  • Develop and implement Account Plans supporting business objectives and revenue targets.
  • Use CRM system to manage leads, opportunities, and gain insights into key accounts.

Qualifications

  • Experience in selling research products/services into high potential accounts.
  • Understanding of drug discovery, development, diagnostic workflows, and associated technologies.
  • Experience in prospecting, developing account plans, and effectively communicating at all levels, including c-suite.
  • Proficiency in German is essential; ideally based in Germany.
  • Degree, MSc, or PhD in biological sciences; experience in protein research, immunology, and Immunohistochemistry is desirable.
