Strategic Account Executive, Amazon Business

Amazon Business in Canada is expanding our sales team to make buying even easier for Canadian Enterprise customers across all verticals. Companies can now easily manage their procurement needs and purchase supplies through Amazon Business and Business Prime.

Account Executives in the Strategic segment are responsible for building and managing their book of business by leveraging solution-selling, traditional and digital prospecting tactics, and supporting long-term strategic customer relationships. Responsibilities include prospecting, finding internal champions, expert knowledge of features and products to create personalized solutions for each organization (feature adoption), and developing relationships with key decision makers across Finance, Procurement, IT, Facilities, and other departments.

Account Executives will ensure solutions meet procurement needs and will recommend approaches and alternatives, including contracting, eProcurement integration, advanced payment, and automated reconciliation processes. They will work closely with customers to manage deployment and ensure successful adoption of solutions.

Key responsibilities
  1. Manage all aspects of the account management process for large, complex strategic accounts (companies with revenue > $1.5B).
  2. Own the pipeline and demand generation process.
  3. Meet or exceed targets for prospecting and acquiring new customers, as well as managing existing accounts.
  4. Engage with customers up to VP/SVP level, including CFO, CPO, and Head of Indirect Procurement.
  5. Articulate, discuss, and contribute to customer procurement strategies.
  6. Successfully negotiate with multiple stakeholders.
  7. Possess expertise in Purchase-to-Pay procurement processes.
  8. Have knowledge of ERP systems (Coupa, SAP, Oracle, MSFT), eProcurement systems, and related solutions.
  9. Drive innovation through customer feedback to enhance satisfaction.
  10. Collaborate with internal teams such as professional services, marketing, and customer service.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in B2B or enterprise sales focusing on new business acquisition.
  • Experience with CRM tools like Salesforce.
  • 7+ years in B2B or enterprise sales with a focus on hunting new business.
  • Knowledge of procurement and source-to-pay processes or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to identify trends and needs to improve large-scale technology deals.
