Job summary

Holt Engineering in Poole is seeking an experienced Stores Operative to join the Materials & Stores team, supporting production flow, receipts, stock checks and despatch of goods with accurate records and tidy stores.

The ideal candidate will have warehouse or manufacturing experience, strong computer skills, attention to detail and a full UK driving licence. You will work closely with Production and Purchasing to keep materials available and compliant with quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, stores, materials handling or manufacturing.
• Experience with stock control, goods-in or materials handling.
• Good computer skills and accurate record keeping.
• Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to work.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Experience with electronic components or manufacturing materials is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Book in and receipting incoming materials and check deliveries for accuracy.
• Carry out regular stock checks and maintain stock records.
• Prepare and kit materials for production requirements.
• Pack and despatch finished goods to customers.
• Organise courier collections and ensure paperwork is completed.
• Deliver completed products to customers and collect materials when required.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe Materials & Stores area.
• Work with Production and Purchasing to ensure materials are available when required.
• Follow quality, environmental and health & safety procedures.

Are you an experienced Stores Operative looking for your next opportunity?

We are currently recruiting for a Materials Handler to join a well-established manufacturing business in Poole. This is a varied role within the Materials & Stores team, supporting the smooth flow of materials into production and ensuring goods are accurately received, managed and dispatched.

The Role

• Booking in and receipting incoming materials and checking deliveries for accuracy.
• Carrying out regular stock checks and maintaining accurate stock records.
• Preparing and kitting materials ready for production requirements.
• Packing, preparing and arranging finished goods for customer despatch.
• Organising courier collections and ensuring the correct paperwork is completed.
• Delivering completed products to customers and collecting materials when required.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe Materials & Stores area.
• Working closely with Production and Purchasing teams to ensure materials are available when required.
• Following company quality, environmental and health & safety procedures.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a warehouse, stores, materials handling or manufacturing environment.
