Job summary

Lantmännen Unibake in Bedford is seeking a Stores Operative to ensure efficient handling and accurate storage of incoming raw materials, ingredients and packaging, while adhering to LUUK specifications, food safety, and health and safety standards.

You will unload deliveries, operate forklifts, maintain inventory accuracy, perform temperature checks, record transactions in AX ERP, and contribute to continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of warehouse experience.
• Experience with Reach and Counterbalance trucks.
• Proficiency with AX ERP or similar inventory system.
• English and Maths proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Unload and inspect incoming deliveries.
• Manage stock using mechanical handling equipment (MHE).
• Maintain inventory accuracy and stock rotation.
• Identify discrepancies or quality issues and respond.
• Collaborate as part of a dynamic team.
• Receipt, storage, and issuance of raw materials.
• Record temperature checks and quality inspections.
• Handle non-conforming materials with Quality department.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials for production.
• Record transactions in AX ERP to maintain inventory integrity.
• Assist with stock counts and meticulous record-keeping.
• Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene standards including PPE and waste control.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and cross-functional teamwork.

Job Title: Stores Operative

Reporting To: Stores Supervisor

Department: Stores

Shift: Continental Shift Pattern - Pink Shift

2 weeks day shift then 2 weeks night shift

3 days on x 4 days off then 4 days on x 3 days off

shift start at 6AM and 6PM

Location: Lantmännen Unibake, Wallis Way, Eastcotts, Bedford, MK42 0PE

Main Purpose of Role

We’re looking for a motivated Stores Operative to ensure the efficient handling and accurate storage of all incoming raw materials, ingredients, and packaging, maintaining compliance with LUUK specifications, food safety, and health and safety standards.

You will be great at:

• Safely unloading and inspecting incoming deliveries.
• Efficiently managing and organizing stock using mechanical handling equipment (MHE).
• Consistently maintaining inventory accuracy and stock rotation.
• Quickly identifying and responding to product discrepancies or quality issues.
• Working collaboratively and effectively as part of a dynamic team.
• Managing accurate receipt, storage, and issuance of raw materials.
• Conducting and documenting regular temperature checks and quality inspections.
• Handling non-conforming materials in collaboration with the Quality Department.
• Ensuring timely delivery of materials for production needs.
• Accurately recording transactions in the AX ERP system to maintain inventory integrity.
• Assisting in stock counts and maintaining meticulous records.
• Adhering strictly to health, safety, and hygiene standards, including proper PPE usage and waste disposal.
• Contributing to continuous improvement efforts and cross-functional teamwork.

• Comfortable working within ambient (8°C) and chilled (<4°C) environments.

You have:

• At least 2 years of relevant warehouse experience.
• Proven experience operating Reach and counterbalance trucks.
• Familiarity with AX ERP or similar inventory management software.
• Solid understanding of logistics processes including goods-in handling and stock rotation.
• Basic educational qualifications including proficiency in English and Maths.
