Job summary

Ingka External in Milton Keynes is hiring a Warehouse Operative to support our store operations. The role involves manual handling, stock picking and customer-facing duties in a busy warehouse environment.

You will work 18–32 hours with a starting date on 3 October 2026, at an hourly rate of £14.15 plus a night shift allowance of £2.25 per hour for hours 10pm–6am. Various shifts include mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Ability to prioritise and organise workload swiftly with attention to detail.
• Experience using technical equipment to enhance productivity and efficiency; able to take initiative and work in a team.
• Comfortable using computers and handheld devices to support picking/stock or answer customer questions.

Responsibilities

• Manually handle all products from LACK Coffee Tables to PAX Wardrobes.
• Serve customers in the warehouse, balancing warehouse and customer-facing duties.
• Perform picking and packing with accurate stock records and secure documentation.
• Work with heavy machinery such as forklift trucks to move goods safely within the warehouse.
• Follow all safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for staff and customers.

WHAT WE OFFER

• The Start Date of employment will be: 3rd October 2026
• This role offers an hourly rate of £14.15
• Nightshift allowance of £2.25 per hour applies for hours worked between 10pm and 6am.
• Part Time: 18-32 hours working 3-5 days per week including late evenings and 3 out of 4 weekends.
• Hours of operations for this area are from 4am until 10pm and we are looking for people with a variety of availability, including daytimes, evenings and weekends.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HIGHLAND HAVE

• Ability to prioritise and organise your workload swiftly and with attention to detail.
• Experience in utilising technical equipment to enhance productivity and efficiency.You are prepared to act on your own initiative and to participate in group efforts.
• You are comfortable using computers and handheld devices to support with the picking/filling of stock or to answer customer questions.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

• You will be required to manually handle all of our products ranging from LACK Coffee Tables to PAX Wardrobes.
• Serving customers in the warehouse, balancing both warehouse and customer-facing responsibilities.
• Effectively perform the role in the assigned area of responsibility, which includes, manual handling of heavy stock, receiving and replenishing goods with accuracy, picking and packing customer orders and keeping accurate records of stock levels.
• Working with or around heavy machinery, such as, Forklift trucks, counterbalance, pump trucks, to safely and efficiently transport heavy goods within the warehouse.
• Ensure all safety protocols and regulations are followed for a secure environment for both our customers and co-workers.
