Job summary

Kingfisher Industrial Ltd, head office in Kidderminster, is expanding its warehouse team within a growing manufacturing group. We seek a proactive Materials Controller to manage inbound deliveries, stock control, and kit readiness to support fabrication and site installations.

You will coordinate with suppliers, maintain accurate stock records, operate forklifts safely, and ensure traceability and compliance with safety procedures.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 Warehousing & Storage desirable.
• Forklift Truck Licence desirable.
• Manual Handling Certification desirable.
• First Aid at Work desirable.
• Familiar with manufacturing safety procedures.
• COSHH knowledge.
• Experience in fabrication/industrial environments.
• Knowledge of safe lifting, storage and handling of materials.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and log raw materials and supplies.
• Verify deliveries against purchase orders and notes.
• Maintain stock records and inventory levels.
• Pick and issue materials for fabrication projects.
• Organise warehouse and storage areas for efficient retrieval.
• Support fabrication teams with material availability.
• Prepare equipment and materials for site installations.
• Conduct regular stock and cycle counts.
• Coordinate deliveries with suppliers and transport firms.
• Ensure traceability of materials per quality procedures.
• Operate forklifts safely and maintain a clean, safe workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and book in raw materials, steel plate, wear liners, welding consumables, tools, and engineering supplies.
• Verify deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels using company stock control systems.
• Pick and issue materials for fabrication and installation projects.
• Organise warehouse and storage areas to ensure efficient material retrieval.
• Support fabrication teams by ensuring materials are available to meet production schedules.
• Prepare equipment, consumables, and materials for site installation teams.
• Conduct regular stock counts and cycle counts.
• Coordinate deliveries and collections with suppliers and transport companies.
• Ensure traceability of materials in accordance with company quality procedures.
