Job summary

NT Engineering & Manufacturing is seeking a Stores Controller to build a brand-new stores function across multiple Northern sites, based mainly in Moray. You will own stock movements, CMMS data, cycle counts and spare parts, while developing supplier relationships and dashboards.

The role focuses on establishing order, standardisation and continuous improvement, with ownership of the process from day one in a growing renewable energy business.

Qualifications

• A genuinely organised, systematic approach is essential.
• Experience in a stores, warehouse or inventory role.
• Understanding of inventory control concepts (reorder points, safe stock levels).
• Comfortable with CMMS systems, or a fast learner with new systems.

Responsibilities

• Designing and embedding a brand new stores function across multiple Northern sites.
• Managing all stock movements, recording accurately against the CMMS inventory system.
• Conducting regular cycle counts and full stock audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Maintaining and organising critical spare parts to support operational uptime.
• Building supplier relationships, managing reviews and supporting commercial conversations.
• Creating visual dashboards to keep stores information reported and up to date.
• Driving digitisation and process improvement, including barcode/scanning systems.
• Standardising stores referencing, layout and CMMS usage across all sites.
• Managing COSHH materials and LOLER equipment sign-in/sign-out procedures.
• Coordinating movement of parts between sites to optimise availability and reduce duplication

We're working with a growing, forward-thinking business in the renewable energy space, based in Moray, who are looking for a Stores Controller to come in and build a proper stores function from the ground up across their Northern sites.

You’ll be given real ownership to design, standardise and embed a brand new stores operation - CMMS set-up, stock control, cycle counts, critical spares management & supplier relationships. What we’re looking for:

• A genuinely organised, systematic approach -this matters more than anything else


• Experience in a stores, warehouse or inventory role


• Understanding of inventory control concepts (reorder points, safe stock levels)


• Comfortable with CMMS systems, or a fast learner with new systems


• Strong Health & Safety awareness and housekeeping standards


• Able to identify engineering spare parts and understand their purpose


• Desirable: forklift licence, COSHH/IOSH awareness, Lean/5S or continuous improvement training, experience raising purchase orders
