Job summary

E3 Recruitment is seeking an Engineering Stores Controller for a permanent, days-based role near Desford. The position offers a salary up to £40,000 and a Monday to Friday 8am–4pm schedule.

You will oversee the engineering stores, process spare parts requests, and ensure stock accuracy and safe storage in line with COSHH requirements. • Control and allocate engineering parts and consumables stores inventory.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the Engineering Stores.
• Perform daily and month-end checks of stock levels for fuels/chemicals and ensure safe COSHH storage.

Job description

We are recruiting an Engineering Stores Controller for a permanent, Monday to Friday days-based role in Desford with a leading manufacturing company paying a salary up to £40,000 per year.
You will manage daily Engineering Stores operations, process order requests for spare parts & consumables, fuels & chemicals at the correct times; handle financial reconciliation of stock and orders, and administer the computerised planned maintenance system.

Key Responsibilities of the Engineering Stores Controller

• Engineering parts and consumables stores control and stock allocation
• The day-to-day management of the Engineering Stores
• Conduct daily and end-of-month checks of fuel and chemical stock levels and responsible for safe storage in line with COSHH requirements
• Daily check of PPE and other production-based consumables
• Manage stock levels using CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).
• Vet and research new and existing suppliers, constantly looking to gain better quality parts and/or prices and/or improved supply
• Carry out period stock checks of all spares (cycle counts)
• Take any remedial action required due to stock levels in a timely manner
• Supply goods/parts to all areas of the factory as required
• Collect/transport goods to/from site
• Assist engineering teams in creating kits for planned maintenance tasks
• Liaise between management and suppliers, to meet delivery deadlines and ensure best price is achieved
• Control of stores spending against budgets
• Assist with the planning and organising parts around maintenance shutdown periods.
