Job summary

Catering in Markfield, Leicestershire, is seeking an Engineering Stores Controller for a permanent, days-based role. You will manage daily Engineering Stores, handle stock for parts, consumables, fuels and chemicals, and reconcile stock and orders using a CMMS.

The role includes supplier liaison and planning to meet maintenance needs. Ideal candidates will have experience with engineering stores systems, be proficient in Word/Excel, and show strong organisational skills with a self-motivated

Qualifications

• Experience with an Engineering Stores system and stock control.
• Proficient with computer-based systems, including a PPM system.

Responsibilities

• Control and allocate stock of engineering parts and consumables.
• Manage day-to-day Engineering Stores operations.
• Conduct daily and end-of-month stock checks of fuel and chemicals; ensure safe COSHH storage.
• Regularly check PPE and production consumables.
• Operate CMMS to manage stock levels and supplier liaison.
• Carry out cycle counts and remedial actions to balance stock and budgets.
• Distribute parts to factory areas and assist maintenance planning.
• Liaise with management and suppliers to meet delivery deadlines and prices.

We are recruiting an Engineering Stores Controller for a permanent, Monday to Friday days-based role in Desford with a leading manufacturing company paying a salary up to £40,000 per year.

You will manage daily Engineering Stores operations, process order requests for spare parts & consumables, fuels & chemicals at the correct times; handle financial reconciliation of stock and orders, and administer the computerised planned maintenance system.

Key Responsibilities of the Engineering Stores Controller:

• Engineering parts and consumables stores control and stock allocation
• The day-to-day management of the Engineering Stores
• Conduct daily and end-of-month checks of fuel and chemical stock levels and responsible for safe storage in line with COSHH requirements
• Daily check of PPE and other production-based consumables
• Manage stock levels using CMMS (computerised maintenance management system).
• Vet and research new and existing suppliers, constantly looking to gain better quality parts and/or prices and/or improved supply
• Carry out period stock checks of all spares (cycle counts)
• Take any remedial action required due to stock levels in a timely manner
• Supply goods/parts to all areas of the factory as required
• Collect/transport goods to/from site
• Assist engineering teams in creating kits for planned maintenance tasks
• Liaise between management and suppliers, to meet delivery deadlines and ensure best price is achieved
• Control of stores spending against budgets
• Assist with the planning and organising parts around maintenance shutdown periods.

Experience Required for the Engineering Stores Controller:

• Experience of an Engineering Stores System – stock control, computer based, PPM system
• Computer literate including Microsoft Word, Excel
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Self-motivated, able to work unsupervised
