Job summary

Delano London, opening in 2026, is seeking a Storeman to join the pre-opening team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you’ll receive, inspect, store and issue goods for hotel departments, ensuring accuracy, organization and compliance with internal controls and safety standards.

You’ll maintain storeroom and refrigeration areas, log receipts in inventory systems, monitor stock levels, and coordinate with Purchasing and Accounts Payable to process invoices.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years in receiving, storeroom or warehouse operations, preferably in hospitality.
  • Basic knowledge of hotel department supply needs.
  • Familiarity with inventory systems and procurement software (BirchStreet, Adaco) preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication.
  • Attention to detail, organization and accurate recording.
  • Observant and able to respond quickly to discrepancies.
  • Understanding of safety, sanitation and internal control practices.
  • Ensure manual handling policies are adhered to.

We are seeking an exceptional Storeman to join the pre-opening team of Delano London. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you’ll be responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, and issuing goods and supplies for the hotel’s various departments, with an emphasis on accuracy, organization, and compliance with internal controls and safety standards. This role plays a key part in ensuring that all hotel outlets receive the necessary materials in a timely and efficient manner. The Storeman maintains proper inventory levels, ensures goods are stored safely and securely, and verifies that deliveries meet the hotel’s specifications and quality standards.

Set to open its doors in 2026, Delano London will fuse historic charm with contemporary luxury, reflecting a reimagined experience that pays homage to the original visionary concept. Job Description

What you’ll do…

  • Receive all incoming deliveries and verify accuracy of orders against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Inspect goods upon arrival for quantity, quality, and condition; report and document any discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
  • Properly store all food, beverage, and general supplies in designated storage areas, ensuring compliance with FIFO (First In, First Out) and food safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storerooms, refrigerators, and freezers.
  • Accurately log received items into inventory systems and coordinate with Purchasing and Accounts Payable regarding receipts and invoices.
  • Issue requested items to departments according to approved requisitions and ensure accurate documentation of outgoing inventory.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with regular inventory counts and reconciliations.
  • Ensure all goods are stored in appropriate conditions (temperature, humidity, cleanliness) and are secured against loss or theft.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, delivery personnel, and department heads to ensure timely delivery and distribution of goods.
  • Follow all hotel and departmental procedures related to receiving, storage, issuance, and inventory control.
  • Maintain records of receipts, stock levels, and goods issued in accordance with audit and internal control requirements.
  • Report any inventory discrepancies, spoilage, or expired goods to the Assistant/Director of Finance immediately.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or carts safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with end-of-month inventory procedures and prepare reports as requested.
Qualifications

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in receiving, storeroom, or warehouse operations, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Basic knowledge of hotel department supply needs
  • Familiarity with inventory systems and procurement software (e.g., BirchStreet, Adaco) preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to accurately count, record, and reconcile inventory.
  • Must be observant and able to respond quickly to discrepancies or supply issues.
  • Understanding of safety and sanitation standards related to food and supply storage.
  • Basic understanding of internal control practices and inventory documentation procedures.
  • Ensure manual handling policies and procedures are adhered to
